DOM Mentorship

At UCSF’s Department of Medicine, We’re Reimagining Mentorship

We’re building a culture where growth is shared, support is intentional, and everyone feels seen. Under the leadership of Dr. Lekshmi Santhosh, Associate Chair for Mentorship and People Development, our work is grounded in evidence, equity, and a deep commitment to our community.

What started as a department-wide needs assessment has grown into a movement to create sustainable, high-impact mentorship across the DOM. From early-career guidance to leadership development, we’re building systems and connections that help our faculty and trainees not just succeed — but thrive.
